LOVE

I have a question... What is your idea of unconditional love and can you truly love someone that you dislike? My idea of unconditional love is AGAPE love which is the love God has for us. Loving someone is spite of who they are... despite their faults... not condemning... not being judgmental. I believe that to truly operate in AGAPE love, how can you actually dislike another person? Did Jesus dislike anyone he met? Regardless of who they were or what they did, he loved them.

I think sometimes we as can get caught up in the natural and automatically judge people by what we perceive. We look at the external as opposed to the internal. You can't judge a book by its cover. I know that's a cliche, but it's true. What I do want to point out is that before we can love others unconditionally, we have to learn how to love ourselves first. A part of that is letting go what's in the past. Everyone has been hurt at some point in their lives, but we shouldn't allow those things to dictate how we treat others. Hurt people hurt people. Where are you hurting in your life? Have you really gotten down to the root of your issues?

Those things must be uprooted in order for you to truly operate in love . Things we suppress or forget about haven't gone away. They lie dormant and at any moment they can pop back up. We must ask God to release us from bondage from things we may be aware of and things we may not be. This is important because there are things that are part of our conscious, sub-conscious and the unconscious. Ask God to free you from anything that may prevent you from becoming closer to Him. God is love. Don't we strive to be like Him? Where is your love walk? Let's start to love on each other and we'll really start to see change in our world.
